The Rocky Mountain Instinct has a SMOOTHWALL Carbon frame that uses 150mm of travel on the front and 140mm of travel on the rear. The frame features RIDE-4 adjustable geometry so you can dial in your ride for the terrain you ride on. The frame also comes with 2-bolt ISCG-05 tabs, internal cable routing, and integrated frame protection.
The C70 version of the Rocky Mountain Instinct comes with a Shimano XT 12-speed drivetrain. This includes a cassette that has a hill-crushing 10-51T gear range that makes climbing and pedaling through rough terrain much easier. Shimano XT Trail 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes provide superior stopping power so you can descend with confidence. RaceFace AR 30 tubeless-ready rims are paired with Maxxis Dissector tires that can be set up tubeless for a smoother ride, better traction, and fewer flats. With the RaceFace Turbine R Dropper Post, you'll be able to quickly lift and lower your saddle with the press of a lever.

RIDE-4 adjustment system
The RIDE-4 adjustment system allows riders to quickly fine-tune their geometry with a pair of Allen keys. Four configurations are possible thanks to one rotating chip.
Two-positions axle
Two Altitude and Instinct frames, in both alloy and carbon, are equipped with a two-position axle dropout.
SMOOTHLINK suspension
Smoothlink suspension is efficient yet supple when you’re on the pedals and across a wide range of gears. It features a controlled end-stroke and a rate-curve that feels more capable than the travel would suggest.
Modular shock mounts
Available on Altitude and Instinct carbon models, the modular shock mount allows for future suspension kinematic updates.

Size Specific Tune ensures that riders of all sizes get the right balance of small-bump compliance, mid-stroke support, and end-stroke progressiveness. Our design team does custom shock tunes based on real world field testing, and adjusts each tune for specific frame sizes. |
